Stephen F. Austin Ends Season With 53-36 Loss

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - Damany Hendrix, Ron Austin and Tyler Hackstadt combined for 42 of Lamar's 53 points Monday night as the Cardinals defeated Stephen F. Austin 53-36.
Hendrix, Austin and Hackstadt each had 14 points for Lamar (15-13) in the first-round Southland Conference tournament game.
Lamar led 30-22 at the half and went on a 17-5 run to start the second half to break the game open.
Stevin Ozier led Stephen F. Austin (13-15) with 17 points. Ozier, the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year, chalked up a double-double adding 12-rebounds to lead SFA in that category as well. The Lumberjacks hit only 14 field goals and shot 26 percent for the game.
The Lumberjacks set Southland Conference Tournament records for the lowest points, field goals and field goal percentage. SFA made only 14 field goals in the game, with only five coming in the second half when the 'Jacks were limited to a season low 14-points. Lamar allowed the 'Jacks to shoot only 25.9% from the field for the game, which was also a season low for the 'Jacks.
SFA wrapped up the season with an overall record of 13-15.
Lamar faces McNeese State in the Southland Conference semifinals Wednesday night.
