
SFA Track & Field Competes at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field teams kicked off the 2002 outdoor season Thursday with a strong showing at the Texas A&M Multis/Relays meet.
Sophomore Jonathan Roberson (Mart, Texas) led the way for the Lumberjacks with his 6,628-point performance in the decathlon, which was good enough for a third-place overall finish. Sophomore Nathan Flores (Kingwood, Texas) finished second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:42.99.
For the Ladyjacks, freshman Shametra Boykins (Karnack, Texas) earned the triple jump individual title with her mark of 39-10.00. Freshman Jocelyn Stevens (Schertz, Texas) recorded a second-place finish with her time of 1:01.81 in the 400-meter hurdles.
The SFA track and field teams return to action Saturday in the Baylor Dr. Pepper Relays in Waco, Texas.
