Ladyjacks Battle Southwest Texas to a 0-0 Tie SFA plays its second double overtime game in its last three games
NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team battled the defending Southland Conference champion Southwest Texas Bobcats to a 0-0 tie Friday night at Homer Bryce Stadium. The Ladyjacks are 7-8-2 overall and 4-3-2 in the Southland Conference.
In what has become the signature of this Ladyjack team, the defense dominated the game. But unfortunately for SFA, the Southwest Texas defensive unit was up to the task as well. The two teams attempted only 20 shots combined. Freshman goalkeeper Natascia Michalezki (Calgary, Alberta) faced eight shots on goal and stonewalled every one. Kristen Tutt faced four shots on goal from the SFA offense and stopped all four.
It was the second double overtime game for SFA in its last three contests, both ending in a tie.
Over the course of the last four games, Michalezki has surrendered only one goal in 400 minutes of action. She has recorded a 0.225 goals against average during that span.
The Ladyjacks close out the season with three consecutive road games. SFA next contest will be Tuesday Oct. 29 against McNeese State, in Lake Charles, La. The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
