Michalezki Earns SLC Honor

PLANO, Texas - Freshman goalkeeper Natascia Michalezki (Calgary, Alberta) was named Southland Conference goalkeeper of the week Wednesday announced the league office. It is the second time this season Michalezki has earned the honor and the fourth time that a Ladyjack was won the player of the week award.
Michalezki led the Ladyjacks to a 1-0-1 record last week as she surrendered only one goal in the two games. The lone goal came in a two-overtime game against Southeastern Louisiana that ended in a 1-1 tie. Michalezki played all 110 minutes of the contest recording six saves. Michalezki recorded her fifth shutout of the season two days later against Nicholls State. She also recorded two saves against Colonels. She finished the week with eight saves and a 0.45 goals against average.
The Ladyjacks close out the 2002 home schedule Friday against defending Southland Conference Champion Southwest Texas. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m., from Homer Bryce Stadium.
