NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team's game against Southeastern Louisiana Friday night ended the way it started, tied. After two overtime periods, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
Sophomore Lauren Matkin (Wimberley, Texas) put the Ladyjacks up 1-0 when she netted the game's first goal at the 35:15 mark of the first half. It looked as if the Ladyjacks were going to make that goal the gamewinner as both teams were held scoreless until the 77th minute of the contest. The Lady Lions tied the game at 76:29 mark when Kim McNally scored off a pass from teammate Kendra Oney. Neither team could score a goal after two overtime periods and the game ended in a tie.
Freshman goalkeeper Natascia Michalezki (Calgary, Alberta) played all 110 minutes and recorded with six saves.
The Ladyjacks are now 6-8-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the Southland Conference.
SFA returns to action Sunday afternoon to take on Nicholls State. The game against the Colonels is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
