NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team (6-8-0/3-3-0 Southland) return home to the friendly confines of Homer Bryce Stadium for a conference rematch with Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls State. The Ladyjacks just returned home from trip to Hammond and Thibodaux, La., where they picked up a split, falling to SLU, 2-1, but beating the Colonels, 2-0. It is a huge weekend as far as the conference race is concerned, as the Ladyjacks are tied with Louisiana-Monroe for the fourth and final playoff spot. But the Ladyjacks are only a half game back of the third-place Lady Lions. SFA will take on Southeastern Louisiana Friday night at 7 p.m., from Homer Bryce Stadium. The Ladyjacks will be right back in action Sunday when they face the Colonels. The game against NSU is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m.
No Goal For You: Sophomore goalkeeper Natascia Michalezki (Calgary, Alberta) recorded the fourth shutout of her career last Sunday against Nicholls State. Michalezki's four shutouts place SFA in a three-way tie (Southwest Texas and Northwestern State) for the most shutouts in the conference.
Stonewalled: Ladyjack opponents are starting to think that there is an invisible wall in front of the SFA goal that prevents opponents from scoring. Well, that wall isn't invisible and it goes by the name Natascia Michalezki. Michalezki is currently second in the conference and 10th in the nation with her 8.07 saves per contest.
On Deck ... The Ladyjacks will be back in action on Friday Oct. 25, against defending Southland Conference champion Southwest Texas. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m., from Homer Bryce Stadium. Admission is free to students.
