
Lady Lions Battle Back to Beat SFA

HAMMOND, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks lost to Southeastern Louisiana, 1-0, Friday night in Hammond. The setback drops SFA to 5-8-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the Southland Conference.
In a game that didn't see many shots (19 total), the Ladyjacks jumped out on top when freshman Lauren Cummings (Kingwood, Texas) netted her fourth career goal on a pass from sophomore Lauren Matkin (Wimberley, Texas). The goal came at the 14:15 mark of the first half. The lead stood throughout the rest of the half.
The Lady Lions started their attack in the second half when SLU's Wanda Regan tied the game in the 52 minute. Southeastern Louisiana's Kim McNally scored the game-winning goal 26 minutes later o put the game away.
The Ladyjacks will be in Thibodaux, La., Sunday afternoon to take on Nicholls State. The match against the Colonels is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
