NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) - Percy Green scored 22 points, Skip Jackson added 18 and Stephen F. Austin outshot Northwestern State by 19-9 from the foul line en route to a 73-66 victory over the Demons in a Southland Conference game Thursday night.
SFA (7-4 overall, 4-0 Southland), down by 29-26 at halftime, outscored Northwestern (2-9, 0-2) by 47-37 in the second half to beat the Demons and snap an 11-game losing streak to Northwestern State dating back to the 1997-98 season.
The game-winning edge came from the foul line as SFA took advantage of 25 Northwestern fouls to gain a 14-5 foulshooting advantage in the second half.
Forward Ransom White returned to the lineup after missing the Oral Roberts game with an injury to pull down a game high 10 rebounds for the 'Jacks. Steven Ozier added 11 points and seven rebounds for SFA.
Michael Byars-Dawson and reserve Chris Lynch had 16 points each to lead Northwestern and Alann Polk added 10 for the Demons.
SFA looks to continue its SLC winning streak Saturday as they travel to Monroe, Louisiana to take on the Indians of the University of Louisiana-Monroe in a 7:45 p.m. tip. SFA returns home for the first time in a month January 10 when Lamar visits the Coliseum.
