The Lumberjacks rallied from a twelve point halftime deficit, 34-22, to take a lead over the Bobcats of Southwest Texas Saturday, before falling to the Bobcats 54-53 on a last second three point shot by Clay Click.
Southwest Texas trailed 53-51 with 2.7 second to go, inbounding the ball at midcourt. Click took the inbounds pass and nailed a 25-footer to give the Bobcats the win.
F Ron Banks led the Lumberjacks with 16 points, twelve coming in the second half. G Skip Jackson also added 13 points. F Edwin Tatum led the Lumberjacks on the glass with 6 rebounds.
SFA shot 45.5% from the floor, while holding Southwest Texas to only 38.6% from the field. SWT was only 3 of 15 on 3-point tries, but hit the one that mattered as time expired.
The Lumberjacks return to action Monday night as they play host to UT-San Antonio at 7:00 p.m.
