Ladyjacks Lose to Southwest Texas

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team lost to league-leading Southwest Texas, 4-1, in San Marcos Monday evening.
The Ladyjacks scored one goal late in the second half by Senior Jessica Negron (Arlington, Texas). Negron scored off a penalty kick.
Freshman Kendra Cannon (Kilgore, Texas) and Negron both had two shots in the match.
Senior Elizabeth Evatt (Plano, Texas) played 79 minutes and13 seconds and had two saves. Freshman Jillian Hazel (New Braunfels, Texas) finished up the match without surrendering a goal and three saves.
"We started the match with a young lineup that made young mistakes," SFA head coach Lance Noble said. "The second half we started our veteran lineup and things calmed down. We scored the goal late in the match and the clock just ran out on us."
The Ladyjacks are at home for the remainder of the season. On Wednesday, SFA will be up against McNeese State at 7:00 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium. Admission is free.
