HAMMOND, La. - In spite of a great defensive effort Friday afternoon, the Ladyjack soccer team fell to Southeastern Louisiana, in Hammond, by a 1-0 score.
Senior Elizabeth Evatt (Plano, Texas) had nine saves for the match with one goal allowed.
Senior Jessica Messner (Plano, Texas) and freshman Kendra Cannon (Kilgore, Texas) both led the team with two shots each.
"With a loss like this, I have to take full responsibility," said Lance Noble. "We just had a lot of mistakes on the field. They are in the playoff mix just like we are. They beat us at their place and won at our place. One positive from this match is we had more corner kicks than they did but they did a good job on defense."
The next home match for the Ladyjacks will be Monday against the University of Hawaii at 7:00 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium. Admission is free.
