Indoor Track And Field Team Competes In Houston

HOUSTON, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University track and field program competed in the Leonard Hilton Memorial Indoor Meet in Houston on January 14. This was the teams' first indoor meet of the 2001 season.
Paul Todd, a sophomore from Marshall, took first place in the men's high jump with 2.15M (7-00.50). Todd competed last season for the Lumberjacks and was the Southland Conference Outdoor high jump champion.
SFA was represented by Thomas Williams who clinched first place in the preliminaries of the 60M dash. He finished the race with a time of 6.80. Williams is a freshman from Fort Worth.
On the women's side Mashay Utley, from Houston, finished the 400M dash with a time of 58.78. This secured a first place finish for the sophomore who was competing against 27 other student-athletes.
The Ladyjacks and Lumberjacks will be back in action Saturday, January 20 at the McNeese State Classic in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
