The Lumberjacks fell to 1-1 in Southland Conference play Saturday following a 71-61 loss to UT-San Antonio Saturday night in San Antonio. SFA held a 30-28 lead at the half, but could not overcome a 50% shooting performance by the Roadrunners in the second half, in losing 71-61 to fall to 3-4 for the season.
G Kevin Daniels led the 'Jacks with 21 points and also added two rebounds and three assists. F Ransom White led the 'Jacks on the glass with nine rebounds in the contest. Emanuel Jackson recorded three blocked shots in the game, the second straight night he has blocked three shots in a game.
The 'Jacks shot 43% from the floor in the first half, but fell off to only 29% in the second half and could not keep up with UTSA as the Roadrunners connected on an even 50% of their second half attempts to pull away from SFA. The Lumberjacks eded up shooting only 37% for the game from the field. SFA did shot 81% (21-26) at the line, but UTSA also connected on 85% of their free throw tries (22-26) to excel there as well.
G Devin Brown, the SLC's leading scorer was held to only three field goals in the game, but connected on 9 of 110 free throw attempts to lead UTSA with 16 points. The Roadrunners outrebounded the Lumberjacks 38-28.
The 'Jacks take the week off this week and return to action on December 20 in a non-conference match-up with Schreiner.
