Golf Climbs Three Spots In Final Round

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team shot a final round 298 to finish the Henry Griffits/Baylor Invitational in thirteenth place.
After strong opening rounds of 71-73, Pflugerville senior Trey Schroeder shot a weather hampered round of 77 in the closing round to finish in a tie for 40th place in the individual standings. Clint Bowden, a senior from Gladewater, shot an opening round 69, but fell to rounds of 76-77 to finish the three rounds at twelve over par 222. Boweden tied for 47th.
Fellow Southland Conference member Southeastern Louisiana University turned the low round of the day as a team at 286 to take the team title by two strokes over Louisiana-Lafayette. Baylor finished in third four shots back at 862.
