Ladyjack Soccer Continues Winning Streak

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team disappointed the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions in a 2-0 victory in Nacogdoches at Homer Bryce Stadium.
Southeastern Louisiana, ranked first in the Southland Conference, is now 10-4 overall, and 6-2 in conference play. The Ladyjacks are 4-3-1 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play. This was the first game that the Ladyjacks won at home. This is game three of the Ladyjack winning streak.
The first goal of the match was scored by Spring freshman, Nicole Horn. This is Horn's third goal of the season. The goal was assisted by forward freshman, Angela Rocco. The last goal of the game was scored by leading scorer, Anna Steed. Steed has five goals for the season. Ashley King had three shots and two shots on goal.
Ladyjack goalie, Elizabeth Evatt, who has been out due to injury, made her way back with five saves and holding the Lady Lions to a shut-out. Nicole Helmig, Southeastern goalie, had three saves and two shots against her during the match.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action on Tuesday, October 10, in San Marcos, Texas against the Southwest Texas State Bobcats. The Ladyjacks will host Centenary College on October 13 in Homer Bryce Stadium. Admission is free.
