Tony Minatta begins his fourth year with Lumberjack soccer program in 2023. Minatta accepted the position of head coach of the soccer program after serving six years at Iowa State as head coach. The Colorado native is made an impact at Iowa State and has already done same at SFA in his first three seasons.
In 2022, the 'Jacks faced a gauntlet including two Power five opponents in LSU and Oklahoma State, as well as a matchup with No. 15 SMU in their non-conference schedule. SFA ended up finishing seventh in the WAC with a 5-6 conference record landing them one spot out of a tournament berth.
In 2021, the Lumberjacks played their first season in the Western Athletic Conference and finished with a 10-8-1 overall record and an 8-2 conference record which landed them in the first place in the Southwest Division. SFA went into the tournament as the number one seed and made it to the semifinals. Caylon McMillian and Carli Arthurs both earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors.
In Coach Minatta's first season, he led the 'Jacks to a first place finish (10-6-3) in the Southland Conference and a semi-final appearance in the Southland Conference Tournament as the number one seed with a conference record of 8-3.

• Earned his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) A License (2009)
• Earned his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) International Premier Diploma
• Earned his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.
• Received a Navy Achievement Medal for leadership during an overseas deployment. (1996)
• Attained the rank of Sergeant while serving in the United States Marine Corps
