Jalin is entering his first season with the Lumberjacks. Jalin is a native of Fort Worth, Texas and transferred to SFA from Jackson State University.

2023: Played in 10 games for Tigers…totaled 13 tackle with nine solo tackle…recorded 10 pass breakups

2022: Played in 12 games for the Tigers…totaled 11 tackles with eight solo tackles…Recorded one interception and two pass breakups

Personal: Jalin is the son to Maurice Hughes and the brother to Jahrid Hughes (brother). Hughes was a two year starter at Jackson State and won the SWAC championship as well as advancing to the HBCU National Championship. During his time at SFA, Jalin will pursue a degree in interdisciplinary studies.
