A native of Dallas, Texas, Jaylen Roberson began his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant at Howard Payne University in 2024, where he contributed to defensive strategy and player development. At Howard Payne, he coached four all-conference DBs, with two earning first team all-conference and one earning third team all-region. He now serves as an Assistant Secondary Coach at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Before entering the coaching ranks, Roberson played collegiate football at Southern Nazarene University (2020–2021) and Howard Payne University (2022–2024) as an outside linebacker, earning his B.S. in Kinesiology in May of 2024. As a player, he contributed to back-to-back winning seasons at Howard Payne. A 2020 graduate of DeSoto High School (TX), Roberson was a two-year varsity letterwinner as a linebacker.
