Format:
Stephen F. Austin State University will be hosting a Collegiate Invitational Meet on Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th, 2022. Additionally, a decathlon and heptathlon will be contested Thursday, April 7th and Friday, April 8th, 2022.
Confirmed Teams: Northwestern State University, Abilene Christian University, UT-Tyler, McNeese State University, Jacksonville College
The Decathlon/Heptathlon:
This competition will be open to the top 16 entries in each gender event, based upon previous marks on
TFRRS. If you have an athlete you would like to enter without a score, please contact Coach Phil Olson with your request (polson@sfasu.edu). Entries for this event will be through DirectAthletics (www.DirectAthletics.com). Entries for the Multi will be due by Friday, April 1st, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Entries will be $75.00 per athlete. First consideration for entry will be for those teams who have entered full teams into the Invitational Meet.
Meet Location:
Fletcher Garner Track is located in Homer Bryce Stadium on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. The 8-lane track is a Rekortan Surface installed in 2021. This synthetic surface meets all NCAA guidelines.
Entries:
All entries must be submitted through DirectAthletics (www.DirectAthletics.com) by Monday, April 4th, 2022 at 1:00 PM. SFA Track and Field is not responsible for your failure to submit completed entries by the deadline. No unattached or open (post-collegiate or high school) athletes will be allowed in the meet. Only those schools attending the meet will be allowed to enter their unattached athletes.
Entry Fee:
$400 per gender (team), $75 per entrant for the Decathlon/Heptathlon, and $25 per individual with teams less than 14 athletes. Payment is to be made through DirectAthletics, www.DirectAthletics.com.
Qualifying:
There will be no preliminary heats in the running events. If numbers dictate, heats will be drawn by time and run slow to fast. In the field events, the TOP 9 will advance to the finals. All NCAA regulations will be followed.
Scoring:
This meet will not be scored.
Packet Pick-up:
Coaches may pick up their packets on Friday, April 8th, 2022 at the track and field shed outside the track and through the tunnel. Packet Pick-up may also be made Saturday, April 9th, 2022 beginning at 8:00 am.
Results:
Results will be available through JiraTiming at www.jiratiming.com.
Parking:
Parking will be available in the small lot next the athletic Fieldhouse, and in the parking lot next to the Ag Pond at the south end of the stadium. Also, Buses may drop off their teams in the Hall 20 Lot near the throwing fields. Vans may drop off their implements in back lot next to the throwing fields, but please do not park there. No Buses or Vans in the back lot.
Warm-up:
Athletes will be allowed to warm-up on the football practice field, and on the infield just prior to their events. Please, no loitering or team camps on the infield.
Athlete Check-in:
Running Event Athletes should check-in with the Clerking Tent at least 15min prior to their event for Hip Numbers. The Clerking Tent is located at the south end zone of the Stadium. Field Event Athletes should check-in at least 45min prior to start time of their event.
Implement Weigh-In:
Weigh-ins must be completed at least one (1) hour prior to the beginning of competition.
Failure to check-in implements in this time frame will affect an athlete’s ability to throw those implements. Weigh-in is located in the Track Shed next to the tunnel outside the stadium.
Shower/Dressing Facilities:
There will be no shower or dressing facilities available. Athletes may use the bathroom facilities at the northeast and northwest corner of the stadium.
Team Camps:
All Team Camps can be set up on the east side (backstretch) of the stadium in the stands, or outside the south side of the stadium, outside the gates, between the entryway and the Ag Pond. Again, NO team camps on the infield or under the tunnel.
Athletic Training Area:
A full training staff will be available under the tunnel at the northeast corner of Homer Bryce Stadium. However, if not using the training areas, we ask that teams keep the tunnel area clear.
