Lumberjacks take on top-seeded Cowgirls with championship berth in reach
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin women's tennis team is set for a semifinal showdown with the McNeese Cowgirls in the Southland Tournament semifinals on Monday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. inside the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center.

A LOOK AT THE SERIES
- In the series, SFA has a slight one-match lead over McNeese, with a 12-11 overall record.
- This is the first time both sides are meeting on neutral ground for a postseason match.
- Earlier in the season, McNeese took a 5-2 victory over SFA, with that match being one of three conference matches SFA dropped during the season.
- In the last 10 matches, the Lumberjacks trail the Pokes, 4-6.
- The start of this series dates to March 30, 2003.
THE COWGIRLS
- McNeese enters the semifinals round coming off a 4-0 victory over New Orleans.
- The Pokes enter the second round of the SLC Tournament with a 22-1 record.
- On top of their dominant overall record, the Cowgirls went undefeated in conference, at a perfect 9-0, capturing the 2026 regular season title.
- McNeese went 93-29 in singles play so far this season.
- Ana Hollweg, Erica Hagi, and Elena Morales all earned Southland All-Conference First Team singles, while Hollweg, Hagi, Naomi Hagi, and Salome Fluri all were named to the SLC All-Conference First Team for doubles as well.
- Hollweg led the Cowgirls in singles matches with a 21-2 singles record, going 16-2 at the No. 4 position.
- Fluri, Erica Hagi, Morales, and Stella Rundova all collected double-digit singles wins this season.
- Morales has won her last 14 singles matches in a row.
- The Cowgirls are currently 48-15 in doubles play.
- Hollweg and Naomi Hagi are the leading pair for McNeese with a 20-2 record.

- The Lumberjacks enter the semifinals off a comeback win, capped off with a clincher from Ana Paula Chavez in their 4-3 victory over UIW in the first round.
- SFA enters the second round with a 9-8 overall record.
- The Lumberjacks sport a 43-56 singles record on the year.
- The four Lumberjacks of Sonja Rooth, Felicia Back, Ksenia Mamontova, and Antonella Taco all sit at or above .500 in singles matches, with Rooth leading the group at 10 wins.
- Ana Paula Chaves aims to increase her four-match win streak in singles.
- The Jacks moved to .500 in doubles play, now at an even 23 wins and 23 losses.
- Alkmini Giannakogiorgou and Ksenia Mamontova have won four straight, with a dominant 7-2 doubles record.
