
SFA Soccer Welcomes Spring Transfer Class

The Lumberjacks add seven transfers to 2026 roster
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin women's soccer team welcomes the 2026 transfer signing class, featuring seven new Lumberjacks.
KEIRA TRUOFREH | FR | MIDFIELDER
Keira Truofreh, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is joining SFA after spending one season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Playing in nine matches during her first season, Keira played for a total of 261 minutes with a season and career high of 42 minutes against Lamar. In her nine games, Keira recorded one shot on goal on three shots, while holding opponents to a total of 14 goals.
Head Coach, Ashley Whittemore, said, "Keira is a smart, technical midfielder with excellent vision. She brings great passion to the game and is always eager to learn and improve. She is also dangerous in front of the goal and has the ability to finish when given the opportunity. She will be a fantastic addition to our midfield."
BRIANNE "BB" BONZHEIM | SO | FORWARD
Brianne Bonzheim, a Bradenton, Florida native, joins the Lumberjacks after spending two seasons at Morehead State. In Bonzheim's two seasons, she played in 22 matches in 2024 and 16 matches in 2025, totaling 1381 minutes across two seasons. During her time as an Eagle, Brianne collected two points on two assists with eight shot attempts. In 2024, Bonzheim played a season high of 53 minutes in one match, while in 2025, she played a full 90-minute match against SIUE.
When asked about BB, Whittemore said, "BB is an extremely hard worker who is quick and excels in 1v1 situations. She brings high energy, a great positive presence on the field, and a level of work rate that is contagious to the team. Her hunger and intensity will have a strong impact on our team."
GABRIELLA PONCE | FR | MIDFIELDER
Gabriella Ponce, a local of Wylie, Texas, transfers into SFA after spending one season at Southern Nazarene University. In her one season as a Crimson Storm, Ponce started in 18 matches, playing for 1332 minutes. During those 18 matches, Ponce tallied four goals and three assists, totaling 11 points. Ponce recorded a season high of two goals in one match against East Central on four shots, earning her GAC Player of the Week. To cap off the 2025 season, Ponce was named to the All-GAC First Team and closed the season out at ninth in the conference in shots-per-game at 1.94.
Coach Whittemore stated, "Gabi is an exciting player to watch. She consistently finds herself in the right place at the right time and brings a sense of calmness to the midfield. Offensively, Gabi is smooth and composed, while defensively, she plays with grit and determination."
CARLIE THURMOND | SO | FORWARD
Born in Bardstown, Kentucky, Carlie Thurmond is making her move to SFA after spending two seasons at Morehead State. During her time as an Eagle, Carlie played in 23 matches in 2024, scoring three goals and notching two assists for eight points in 801 minutes. In 2025, Carlie played in 15 matches for 822 minutes, tabbing two assists and two points with a career high 78 minutes in one match against Radford.
Coach Whittemore shared, "We are excited to have Carlie join our squad. She is a proven goal scorer who creates opportunities for others. Her experience in and around the goal will be an asset to this team."
AMÉLIE PRIÉ | SO | DEFENSE
Amélie Prié, a Herschbach, Germany native, makes her way to Nacogdoches after two seasons at Iowa Lake CC. During her time at ILCC, Prié appeared in 34 matches across two seasons. During the 2024 campaign, Prié recorded seven goals with three assists and two game-winning goals. In 2025, Prié played in 17 matches with five goals and two assists with 12 points. Being no stranger to post-season action, Prié pushed her team to win the ICCAS regular-season title and Region XI Championship after a game-winning PK from Prié, earning her ICCAC Tournament MVP. After her second season, Amélie was named ICCAC First Team All-Region and an NJCAA All-American.
Whittemore stated, "Amélie is a player who will excel in any environment. She is smart, disciplined, and an intense competitor with a true love for the game. She will strengthen our back line with her physical presence, aerial ability, and quality distribution out of the back."
KAILEY STRINGFELLOW | FR | DEFENSE
Kailey Stringfellow makes her way from Boerne, Texas, after spending one season at the University of North Alabama. During the 2025 season, Kailey did not appear in any matches for the Lions. Before she entered collegiate soccer, Kailey played at Boerne High School. While in Boerne, Kailey appeared in the 4A 2023 Semifinals and 2024 State Finals and was named 2023 26-4A Newcomer of the Year, and was later named to the UIL All-Tournament Team and All-State Second Team.
Coach Whittemore had this to say about Stringfellow: "Kailey is a fierce competitor and a dominant presence in the midfield. She is defensively sound, strong in the air, and comfortable on the ball. She will be exciting to watch as she integrates into the team."
SAVANNAH EPTING | FR | GOALKEEPER
Savannah Epting, a Pearland, Texas native, transfers in from Houston Christian. Epting played one season for the Huskies, appearing in one match, facing 11 shots in 23 minutes with three saves and only allowing one goal against SMU.
Whittemore noted, "Savannah is a great addition to our goalkeeper group. She is always training and looking to improve, which is something we highly value. She is an excellent shot stopper with great range and a commanding presence in the box."
Whittemore also stated about this signing class, saying, "We are thrilled to welcome such a strong class of spring transfers. Each player brings valuable experience from a variety of backgrounds, and they will integrate seamlessly into our team."
