Jacks Fall to Tigers in Midweek Matchup

HOUSTON, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team traveled to Houston for a midweek game against the Texas Southern Tigers.
Texas Southern got on the board early in the bottom of the first with a three-run inning. That was all the scoring for the game as the rest of the matchup turned into a pitcher's duel between Jordyn Ages and Miranda Pena. Ages shutout the Tigers for five innings while Pena shutout the Jacks for all seven innings. Ages recorded six strikeouts and Pena struck out four batters.
POSTGAME NOTES
• Kaylee Paul led the team with two hits including a double.
• Kara Pride joined Paul with a double.
• Jordyn Ages pitched five shutout innings of relief allowing four hits, one walk and struck out six batters.
UP NEXT
SFA will return home for the first time in almost a month against the UIW Cardinals for a three-game series which will start with a single game on Friday March 20 at 4:00 p.m.
