Thompson Claims Fourth SLC Player of the Week honor

SFA guard earns award for second time in three weeks
FRISCO, Texas - For the fourth time this season and for the second time in three weeks, Stephen F. Austin senior guard Keon Thompson has been named the Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The fourth honor for the Merrillville, Indiana native comes behind a 20-point scoring average over SFA's past two contests: a 67-60 win against #15 McNeese and an 84-74 victory over Lamar. Thompson recorded the tenth 20+ point scoring effort of the season in the win over the Cowboys and added 19 points against the Cardinals as he crossed over 15 points in a game for the 19th time this season.
In addition to filling up the basket, Thompson averaged six rebounds and five and half assists in addition to turning in a 2.8 assist-to-turnover ratio. Of his 40 points scored, 16 came from the stripe as Thompson shot 88.9%.
