
Jacks Finish Strong in Boston, Houston

More record entries due in multiple distance events
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Jacks started strong on Friday, and they finished strong on Saturday with successful day two showings in Boston and Houston. Four new times were placed into the men's 5000m record book, while a pair of top five efforts will be added to the mile record list. Five SFA women logged top 10 finishes on Saturday.
A pair of Lumberjack men entered the program's top 10 in the mile event as Riley Elliott posted the third-fastest effort in program history with a 4:05.72 finish in Boston, while Pablo Lesarri produced the program's fifth-fastest mile time of 4:07.93 in Houston. Nathan Kapel joined Elliott in the top 30 of the 1-mile race with a time of 4:05.42.
Like the women's efforts the night before, the Jacks put four new times into the program's all-time indoor top 10 in the 5000m event. Paul Kiprotich recorded the second fastest time in 13:52.85 to place ninth in the 90-runner field. Ryan Binskin posted the fourth fastest time in 14:13.58 to record a top 30 finish in 28th. Elliott's 14:19.61 effort is sixth all-time as he placed 35th, while Devon Judelson finished in 38th with the program's ninth fastest time of 14:24.06.
Hunter Murphy finished inside the top five of the field in the high jump with a fourth-place result of 2.95m (6' 8 ¾"). In the women's long jump, two Jacks landed inside the top ten of the field with Faith Nze (5.46m, 17' 11") placing tied for fifth and Kennedy Swann (5.45m, 17' 10 ¾") narrowly behind Nze and tied for ninth.
Garance Dubray and Miranda Duran both ran to top eight finishes in the women's 3000m in Houston. Dubray placed seventh in 10:00.59 with Duran a spot back in a time of 10:01.92.
Jovonah Rhodes and Kaycei Salazar produced top 15 finishes in the 800m. Rhodes placed 11th (2:20.89) with Salazar in 13th (2:22.87). Robert Fulle earned a fifth-place finish in the 800m at 1:52.98.
Whitnee Teagle placed tenth in the 200m (25.36), while Mason Roseboro led the SFA men in the event with a 15th place finish in 22.27. In the women's 60 semifinals, Timiejha Furlow finished just outside the top 10 with a time of 7.68. Perry Watkins qualified for the finals of the men's 60m and placed fifth in 6.86.
Three Lumberjack women tossed 38' plus in the shot put with Kiyah Rawls leading with a mark of 11.85m (38' 10 ½") to place 15th. On the men's side, James Williams (16.44m, 53' 11 ¼") and Julian Tijerina (16.16m, 53' ¼") finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
