
Explosive 31-Point Third Quarter Carries Ladyjacks to Victory over Privateers for their Sixth Straight Win

Five Ladyjacks record double figures led by 21 from Key Roseby.
NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program wrapped up their quick trip to Louisiana with a Saturday afternoon matchup against the New Orleans Privateers.
The first quarter was tightly contested as neither team held more than a three-point lead until SFA went on a 5-0 run to take a 17-12 lead with 3:52 left. Both teams continued to trade blows the rest of the first quarter. Myka Perry's made free throw with 48 seconds left was the final point of the quarter, but New Orleans went into the break with a slim 22-20 lead.
Both teams only made one basket in the first four minutes of the game. SFA broke their scoring drought first with a made free throw to take a 24-22 lead with 6:15 left. UNO responded with a layup to tie the game before Key Roseby drained a three-pointer to give the Ladyjacks the lead with 5:41 left. Both teams went on a two-minute scoring drought as neither offense was able to get shots to fall. SFA finished the first half on a 9-6 scoring run to take a six-point lead into the locker room, 36-30.
The back-and-forth continued early in the third quarter until the Ladyjacks went on a 9-0 run to take a commanding 13-point lead, 47-34 with 6:09 left. Two minutes later, SFA exploaded on a 13-3 spurt that included back-to-back-to-back threes with the first two from Harmanie Dominguez and the final one from Roseby, 65-41 with 1:38 left in the third. UNO made back-to-back layups to cut the deficit to 19 as SFA would head to the fourth quarter with a 67-48 lead. Dominguez exploded in the third quarter with 14 points while going 4-7 from beyond the arc.
UNO started the fourth on a 5-0 run to bring the SFA lead down to 14. However, two minutes later the Ladyjacks would respond with a 6-0 run to bring their lead back up to 20. With 3:15 left, the SFA offense did not let their foot off the gas as the Ladyjacks went on an 8-0 scoring run to take a commanding 85-59 lead with 1:38 left in the game. UNO made the final two baskets of the game, but SFA rolled away with a 22-point victory, 85-63.
POSTGAME NOTES
• SFA records their 13th win of the season and their sixth win in a row.
• Key Roseby led the team with 21 points and nine rebounds, her second 20+ point game of the season and one rebound shy of her fourth double-double.
• After an explosive 14-point third quarter, Harmanie Dominguez finished with 18 points, five assists, and four three-pointers.
• Myka Perry followed with 16 points, six rebounds, three steals and four assists.
• Lydia Cajuste recorded 14 points, three steals, and was 3-3 from the free throw line.
• Kaylinn Kemp scored 12 points while leading the team with six assists and four steals. This is her 12th straight game with at least five assists.
• Cha Gardner recorded seven boards and led the team with three blocks.
