
Four Ladyjacks Named to Southland All-Academic Team

FRISCO, Texas- The Southland Conference announced the 2024-25 Women's Tennis Academic All-Conference teams Monday morning.
Juniors Jemma Cave and Ksenia Mamontova earned a spot on First Team and were joined by freshman teammate Sonja Rooth. Cave finished the season with a 14-4 record in singles and a 16-2 record in doubles. She was named to the All-SLC First Team in singles and the All-SLC Second Team in doubles. Mamontova finished the season with an 18-5 singles record, which ties her for the team lead in singles wins. She also finished with a 12-6 doubles record and was undefeated in singles and doubles play in conference. Mamontova also earned a spot on the All-SLC First Team in singles. Rooth made an immediate impact as she finished with the highest GPA on the team, an 18-5 singles record and a 14-7 doubles record. She tied Mamontova for the most singles wins on the team, and earned a spot on the All-SLC First Team in singles and the All-SLC First Team in doubles.
Sophmore Ana Paula Chávez earned a spot on Second Team after finishing her first season at SFA with a 15-7 singles record and an 18-3 doubles record. Her 18 doubles wins is the most on the team. Chávez earned a spot on the All-SLC Second Team in doubles.
