Ladyjacks at a Glance:
The Ladyjacks completed the gauntlet of the Southland Conference Tournament to claim their fourth regular season title in program history. The 'Jacks handily swept Southeastern Louisiana in the opening round of the tournament, before escaping the Northwestern State Lady Demons 4-3 in the semifinals, and put the cherry on top of their magical 2025 season with a commanding sweep of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders in the championship to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament, where they now seek to upset the 13th ranked LSU Tigers on their home court.
Five different Ladyjacks earned spots on the SLC All-Tournament Team following their championship run as Ksenia Mamontova was crowned the Tournament MVP, while Ana Paula Chávez and Jemma Cave earned spots on the All-Tournament Doubles Team, and both Sonja Rooth and Antonella Taco earned spots on the All-Tournament Singles Team.
Tigers at a Glance:
The LSU Tigers saw their championship run come to an end last Friday in Alabama as they defeated the Kentucky Wildcats via sweep in the opening round of the SEC Championship before falling to the Oklahoma Sooners in the second round of the tournament. The Tigers still put together a successful 2025 season as they compiled a 21-7 overall record, as well as a 10-5 conference record in SEC play, and posted seven wins over top-25 ranked teams this year. The Tigers now return home to host a pair of NCAA Tournament games against the Ladyjacks and either USC or Memphis as they look to build off their 9-2 home record this season.
