Ladyjacks Secure Second Southland Conference Tournament Championship After Defeating the Islanders

THIBODAUX, La.- The Stephen F. Austin tennis team (17-6) faced off against fellow regular season champions, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders (25-3) in the championship match for a chance to go to the NCAA Tournament.
SFA got out to a hot start as both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles won 6-4 which secured the doubles point. The 'Jacks quickly continued that momentum into singles play as Sonja Rooth, Antonella Taco, and Ana Paula Chavéz swept their singles with Chavéz securing match point and a Southland Conference Tournament Championship.
