Lumberjacks Drop Game Three Against Purdue

After a scoreless top of the first by the Lumberjacks, Purdue would jump on the 'Jacks, as they put up six runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a double and a triple.
The 'Jacks would chip away at the lead in the top of the second. After a lead off single by Dante Turgeon and a one-out walk by Ethan Adkisson, Dylan Hummel roped a triple down the line to bring both Turgeon and Adkisson home. 6-2 Purdue.
Both pitchers were able to keep the lineups quiet through the next three innings, thanks to some great work by Reid Boyett out of the bullpen.
In the top of the fifth, SFA would threaten. After Austin Cadroy worked a one-out walk, Cemodrick Bland legged out an infield single to put runners at first and third. Bland would then steal second, setting up a chance to put runs on the board, but Purdue pitcher Gavin Beuter would get the next two 'Jacks out to keep Purdue in front by four.
In the next two innings Purdue would tack on four more runs to make it 10-2 in favor of the Boilermakers. The score would remain the same until the bottom of the eighth, when Purdue would put up another four runs. 14-2 Boilermakers.
The 'Jacks were unable to score in the ninth as Purdue would win, 14-2.
Gavin Beuter (1-0) recorded the win for Boilermakers, and Trent Nickerson (0-1) was credited with the loss.
