
SFA Falls to Arkansas in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas for their first matchup with the Razorbacks since the 2023 WNIT matchup.
SFA started the game on a 7-1 run, but Arkansas cut the deficit to two with a four-point spurt. The Ladyjacks then scored seven straight points to take a 14-5 lead with 4:19 left in the first quarter. The Razorbacks took their first lead of the game with a 6-0 run, but a layup from Aziyah Farrier cut the lead down to one, 21-20.
The Ladyjacks struggled in the second quarter as Harmanie Dominguez scored all six points for SFA while Arkansas scored 21 to take a 42-26 lead into the locker room.
After a 4-0 run by Arkansas to begin the third quarter, SFA responded with an 11-0 run that was capped off by a three-pointer from Dominguez, 46-37. Both teams traded blows the rest of the quarter, but Arkansas went into the fourth quarter with a 59-48 lead.
The Razorbacks maintained their lead in the fourth quarter and ended the game with an 82-73 score.
POSTGAME NOTES
• Four Ladyjacks scored double digits; Harmanie Dominguez led the way with 19, Kaylinn Kemp recorded 16, Anika Hyland set a new career high with 14, and Myka Perry added 11.
• Cha Gardner and Aziyah Farrier led the team with eight rebounds each.
• Kemp led the team with five assists, marking her fifth straight game with at least five assists.
UP NEXT
After the Christmas break the Ladyjacks will hit the road for three-straight SLC matchups. SFA will head to Commerce for a Monday afternoon clash before heading over to Northwestern State for a New Year's Eve matchup.
