
SFA Bowling Travels to Delaware for the Northeast Classic

New Castle, DE - The sixth-ranked Ladyjacks bowling team travels to Delaware this weekend, competing at the Northeast Classic, hosted by No. 11 Sacred Heart at Bowlerama.
Last season at the Northeast Classic, the Ladyjacks finished in 7th place overall. The 34-team competition ended with the Ladyjacks bringing home eight wins and two losses in their qualifying rounds and capturing a win over #2 Vanderbilt to claim 7th place overall.
The 39-team tournament begins Friday, January 17, at 9:30 a.m. (CT) with five sets of five-game baker matches. The Classic will follow the standard 13-match rotation this weekend at the Northeast Classic in New Castle, Delaware. Total pinfall will determine the winners of each head-to-head match. Five traditional matches will follow on Saturday, January 18 with pinfall again determining the winners. The total pins from the first 10 matches of the tournament will determine seeding for bracket play on Sunday beginning at 7:25 am (CT).

The Ladyjacks won the Colonial Lanes Classic, hosted by CUSA foe Tulane. On the first two days, the Ladyjacks went 7-3, defeating #4 Vanderbilt and #6 North Carolina A&T in the process. On the final day, SFA had an unfortunate loss to #1 seed Vanderbilt but made quick work of #4 seed Sacred Heart to make it to the championship match against Vanderbilt. The Ladyjacks and Commodores went back and forth the entire match and eventually forced a 5 frame roll-off. The Ladyjacks struck four times in the roll-off to walk away as the 2024 Colonial Lanes Classic Champions.
