
Ladyjacks Women’s Golf Places 5th in Bearkat Invitational

Huntsville, Tx- The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team finished the REMAX Prime Properties Bearkat Invitational coming in 5th place as a team at +74 over par in the two-day tournament with a total of 926 combined strokes.
Sophomore Kinley Pessel and redshirt sophomore Sydney Moss were the top finishers for SFA, both shooting +16 over par, tied for 19th place with 229 total strokes. Junior Shanna Sandoval followed as she tied for 26th at +22 over par with 235 total strokes. Senior Brooke Dishman finished in 30th place overall at +25 over par with 238 total strokes. Junior Avree Fields rounded out the starting five tying for 31st place overall at +27 over par and 240 total strokes.
The Ladyjacks also had three individuals compete at the tournament. Senior Hannah Johnston competed in her first tournament of the year for the Ladyjacks and finished in 34th overall at +32 over par with 245 total strokes. Freshman Taryn Clayton competed in the first tournament of her Ladyjacks career and finished tied for 35th overall at +36 over par with 249 total strokes. Senior Jessica Aguirre also competed in the event but had to withdraw after round one due to injury.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action on Monday, October 7th, as they travel to Glen Rose, Texas to compete in the Texan Match Play event hosted by Tarleton State.
