Lumberjacks Football Announces 2024 SLC Media Day Representatives

San Antonio, TX – The Stephen F. Austin Football team announced the Lumberjacks team representatives for the SLC Football Opening Drive media days.
Head Football Coach Colby Carthel will be joined by senior defensive lineman Edward Bobino III and senior cornerback Jeremiah Walker.
Ed is a native of Huntsville, Texas and joined the Lumberjacks program after playing for Huntsville High School. Bobino enters his fourth season with the 'Jacks in the 2024 season. During his time at SFA, Bobino has played in 23 games recording 96 total tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss and five sacks. He finished the 2023 season with 52 total tackles including 7.5 tackles for loss. He tied a career-high with two sacks as well as a career-high two blocked kicks. Bobino finished as one of the best players in the UAC and was named to the UAC's All-Conference First Team Defense.
Jeremiah is a native of Houston, Texas and joined the Lumberjacks after playing for Dulles High School. Walkers enters his fifth season with the 'Jacks in the 2024 season. During his time at SFA Walker has played in 44 games recording four interceptions, 161 total tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack, and 20 pass breakups. The 2023 season saw Walker record 59 total tackles with one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and three pass breakups.
The Southland Conference Football Opening Drive is set for July 21-22, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The media day event will be in conjunction with the Texas High School Coaches Association Coaching School and Convention. For more information on the Texas High School Coaches Association Coaching School and Convention click here.
The one-of-its-kind broadcast will be featured on ESPN+ and will feature statements, quotes, and interviews from all 10 head coaches and student-athletes on Monday, July 22, including the debut of new members SFA and UTRGV.
In addition to the press conferences, coaches and student-athletes will also participate in social media creative content and segments during the two-day event, which fans can follow live on the Southland Conference Twitter, Instagram and TikTok accounts.
