Austin Ladyjacks Basketball Team (15-8, 9-3) has a short turn around as they return home for the second time in their last three games when they square off against the UTA Mavericks (10-12, 6-6) looking to avenge a loss to the Mavericks from earlier this season. Don't forget to tune into the pre-game show before tip-off on Saturday that will be streamed on Facebook 30 minutes before the opening tip.

Kurstyn Harden led the scoring charge for SFA for a second straight game as she posted her second consecutive game of at least 20 points by posting her fifth double-double of the season with a 20-point, 11-rebound performance against the Vaqueros. Harden's 20-point game was powered by her dominant third quarter that saw her score 14 straight points for SFA. Zoe Nelson stuffed the stat sheet for SFA on Thursday evening as she posted a nine-rebound, one block, one steal performance, and dished out a team-leading nine assists in 26 minutes played against UTRGV. Avery VanSickle continued to show off her range as she drained a team-high three triples in route to a nine-point performance. Meanwhile Kyla Deck, Tyler McCliment-Call, and Destini Lombard rounded out the five starters for SFA by combining for 12 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, one block, and three steals.
The Ladyjack defense continues to force turnovers consistently as they recorded six steals and four blocks on Thursday evening to record their seventh consecutive game they have forced double-digit turnovers defensively. The 'Jacks recorded double-digit offensive rebounds for the third time in their last four games as they finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds, which was three more offensive boards than the Vaqueros. The Ladyjacks drained six three-pointers today marking the sixth time in their last seven games they have made five or more triples as a team in a game, while shooting 72% from the foul line marking their eighth straight game they finished a game with a free-throw percentage over 70%.
Kyla Deck and Destini Lombard have been defensive juggernauts this season for the Ladyjacks as they are both tied for 43rd in the nation in steals with 53 apiece. In addition, Deck ranks 21st in the nation in steals per game with 2.79 steals/game, while Lombard ranks 35th in the nation with a 2.36 assist/turnover ratio. Kurstyn Harden has been a knock down shooter all season for SFA as she ranks 35th in the nation in field goal percentage as she has shot 55.1% from the field for the season.

The UTA Mavericks also come into Saturday's game looking to put a loss behind them as the Mavericks are coming off a loss in a barn-burner game that saw the CBU Lancers defeat the Mavericks 94-92 on the Mavericks home court. The trip to SFA starts a short two-game road trip for the Mavericks that will take them to Stephenville to square off with the Tarleton Texans next week.
Four Mavericks combined to score the majority of the UTA points against CBU as four of the five starters for UTA scored at least 18 points. Gia Adams paved the way for the Mavericks as she led the team with a season-high 24 points while also leading the team in steals with two, and adding two rebounds and five assists to her dominant performance. Taliyah Clark was the second Maverick to finish with at least 20 points as she dropped 20 points while pulling down eight rebounds. Clark and Adams both drained four three-pointers against the Lancers. Avery Brittingham, who will be making her return to the Sawmill on Saturday, scored 18 points while adding eight rebounds and tying for the team lead in assists with seven, while adding two blocks and a steal defensively. Adéla Válková rounded out the top four for the Mavericks as she scored 18 points while adding three rebounds and two blocks to her performance.
Gia Adams is the leader of the UTA offense as she averages a team-high 13.4 points while ranking second on the team in steals with 36. Taliyah Clark represents the deep shooting threat for the Mavericks as she has drained 42 triples on the season while averaging 12.9 points/game. Avery Brittingham is the third Maverick to average double-figure point totals per game as she averages 11.8 points/contest while leading the team in three major categories with those being assists with 93, steals with 37, and pulling down an impressive 187 rebounds on the season.
