Lumberjacks Football Announces Early Signing Class For 2025

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin football team signed 16 future Lumberjacks during the early signing period today. The following players have signed for the 2025 season:
Devin Amos: 6'5, 260, OL
Devin is an offensive lineman from San Antonio, Texas and currently attends San Antonio Warren High School.
"This kid is a straight running athlete. Devin has a chance to be a dominant offensive tackle for the Lumberjacks! Great family, great kid. We are lucky to have him" – Offensive line Coach Garrett Graf.
Bryson Broadway: 6'0, 180, QB
Bryson is a quarterback from Magnolia, Texas and currently attends Magnolia West High School. Bryson was a First-Team All-District honoree as well as offensive MVP.
"Bryson is a fantastic competitor that will bring toughness and intelligence. He is a great passer that can really spin the ball and get the ball out quick." – Quarterbacks coach Jared May.
Cam'Ren-Chance Brooks: 6'0, 188, S
Cam'Ren Chance is a safety from Austin, Texas and currently attends Lake Travis High School. Cam'Ren has earned First Team All-District honors in District 26-6a and was voted All-District defensive back.
"All-district player and team captain from one of the top high schools in the state of Texas, Lake Travis High School. Athletic safety with really good size and very successful in the classroom." – Special Teams Coordinator Nik Nelson.
Kylan Darville: 6'3, 250, DT
Kylan is a defensive tackle from Channelview, Texas and currently attends North Shore High School. Kylan earned first team all-district honors as well as being selected to the Bayou Bowl.
"One of our top Defensive prospects for the 2025 class and is from the eastside of Houston's North Shore HS. A top and high performing program in Texas. He will be riding his Red Mustang to the Piney Woods and bringing all his sacks along with him. He is a big tough, fast and physical presence on the interior. Has the ability to make things happen on the edge as well. With a very high ceiling and work ethic to match, we are excited he is a Lumberjack! Axe'Em" - Coach Ty Warren.
Riley Ellefson: 6'6, 235, TE
Riley is a tight end from Jones, Oklahoma and currently attends Jones High School.
"Riley has a rare combination of size, strength, and ball skills, which will give him the ability to excel in both the running and passing game. Riley is also an honor student and top of his class at Jones HS. He will help the Lumberjacks both on and off the field." – Tight ends coach Tim Bleil.
Trenton Garrett: 6'4, 266, OL
Trenton is an offensive lineman from Garland, Texas and currently attends Naaman Forest High School.
"Trenton is built to grow into a major physical presence for the offensive line. All-District player straight out of the metroplex. Can't wait to coach him." – Offensive line coach Garrett Graf.
Sheldon Green: 6'4, 220, DE
Sheldon is a defensive end from Marrero, Louisiana, and currently attends Shaw High School. Sheldon received First-Team All-District honors during the 2023 season.
"Sheldon is a special blend of size, power, and speed. He comes from one of the best programs in Louisiana and he is a winner! We are absolutely fired up to have him as a Lumberjack!" – Outside linebackers coach David Mackie.
Jaiydyn Johnson: 5'11, 166, CB
Jaiydyn is a corner back from Diana, Texas and currently attends New Diana High School. Jaidyn earned First-Team wide receiver and safety honors in 2023 as well as district MVP honors in 2024.
"Jaiydyn is an absolute playmaker! He has a natural ability to track the ball and is the best punt returner in the state with 10 punt return touchdowns this season." – Defensive backs coach Marcus Trice.
Javari Johnson: 5'9, 170, RB
Javari is a running back from Texarkana, Texas and currently attends Texas High School.
"Highest rated offensive player to ever commit to the Lumberjacks. Explosive East Texas Tough back and District Offensive Player of the Year." – Running backs coach Randy Martinez.
Jacoven Julian: 6'2, 195, DE
Jacoven is a defensive end from Houston, Texas and currently attends Byron Nelson High School. Jacoven has earned First-Team All-District honors in back-to-back years (2023-24).
"Jacoven is incredibly quick and explosive. He comes from an outstanding program in Byron Nelson. His ability to get off the rock and bend is going to wreak havoc for Lumberjack opponents." – Outside linebackers coach David Mackie.
Kyran Moore: 6'2, 170, S
Kyran is a safety from Opelousas, Louisiana and currently attends Opelousas High School. Kyran earned First-Team All-District honors.
"State Champion from Louisiana. Held SEC and FBS offers during his recruiting process. Enjoys riding horses in his free time. Runs track for his school as well." – Special teams coach Nik Nelson.
Evan Naeata: 6'2, 265, DT
Evan is a defensive tackle from Euless, Texas and currently attends Colleyville Heritage High School. Even is a two time First-Team All-District selection.
"A dancing bear in the middle for the Colleyville Heritage Program. Very anxious to see Evan pounce on the competition like he did for the Red Panthers. A physical, agile highly productive athlete whose genes run deep in the family. We are happy he is a Lumberjack." - Coach Ty Warren.
Tyraun Pier: 5'10, 166, CB
Tyraun is a cornerback from Montgomery, Texas and currently attends Lake Creek High School. Tyraun has received First-Team All-District honors as a cornerback and was also voted a team captain.
"One word, TOUGH. Tyraun is one of the more physical players in this class. We love his ability to track the football whether it's in the air or on the ground." - Defensive backs coach Marcus Trice.
Brandon Washington: 5'11, 170, CB
Brandon is a cornerback from Humble, Texas and currently attends Atascocita High School. Brandon has earned All-District honors during his time at Atascocita.
"This young man is a winner on the field and a winner in the classroom. High level competitor, high level character, high level versatility. Bright future ahead." – Defensive backs coach Marcus Trice.
Talion Wynn: 6'4, 250, OL
Talion is an offensive lineman from Lufkin, Texas and currently attends Naaman Forest High School.
"This kid can jump out of the gym! When we look for offensive tackles, we look for athletes that we believe we can develop. Talion is a twitchy football player that I know will turn into a dominant force for the Lumberjacks." – Offensive line coach Garrett Graf.
Jayden Young: 6'3, 275, OL
Jayden is an offensive lineman from Tomball, Texas and currently attends Tomball Memorial High School. Jayden is a two-time First Team All-District honoree.
"Jayden was our first commitment in this OL class. Jayden bleeds purple and wants nothing more than to come in and prove himself to the program. He's a kid that has the size to be very versatile in our offense. Grateful to have him join the 'Jack family!" – Offensive line coach Garrett Graf.
