Greg Miller Chosen for Broadcast of Upcoming Southland Volleyball Tournament

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Long time "Voice of Ladyjack Volleyball" Greg Miller will handle color commentary duties at the upcoming 2024 Southland Conference Volleyball tournament. Damon Sunde, Assistant AD for Broadcast Services at host institution Southeastern Louisiana, along with representatives from the Southland Conference have tabbed Miller to be on the call for all seven matches in Hammond this weekend. He will be joined by SLU play-by-play announcer Tyler Thomas.
Miller has previously worked the first two rounds of five Southland Conference Volleyball tournaments from 2015-2019. He recently broadcast his 300th NCAA volleyball match across eleven seasons of handling play-by-play duties on ESPN+ for all SFA home volleyball events and internet radio broadcasts while the 'Jacks are on the road.
"Earning the opportunity to support the conference as a whole once again in this capacity is something I specifically set as a goal when SFA rejoined the Southland Conference," Miller said. Despite managing the color commentary side of the broadcasts rather than in his traditional play-by-play role, Miller is excited for the chance to work in another role. "I will be working in a different capacity, but one that I certainly still feel comfortable in. I will be able to think and comment in a different way. I trust myself not to do or say too much, but still add quality support to Tyler while he performs the job that I traditionally do.," he said.
Miller is finishing his 19th season working for SFA Volleyball. He began as the team's public address announcer in 2006 and then created www.sfavolleyblog.net in 2009 before adding broadcasting responsibilities in 2014. The 2024 Southland Conference Volleyball tournament begins Friday with No. 3 seed SFA taking on No. 6 seed HCU at 10:00 AM. All matches will stream live on ESPN+.
