NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Basketball Team (3-0, 0-0) closes out their short two-game homestand against the Wiley University Lady Wildcats on Tuesday night at the Sawmill (0-5, 0-2).
Ladyjacks at a Glance:
The Ladyjacks will look to continue their undefeated season on Tuesday night as they are a perfect 3-0 on the year and hold a 2-0 home record this season. SFA grabbed their third win of the season on Saturday night as they defeated the visiting Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters 70-56 thanks to a 24-point fourth quarter explosion. Four different Ladyjacks in Faith Blackstone, Harmaine Dominguez, Trinity Moore, and Ashlyn Traylor-Walker all finished with double-digit points in the win.
Lady Wildcats at a Glance:
The Wiley University Lady Wildcats travel to Nacogdoches looking for their first win of the season. Tuesday night will feature just the second road game this season for Wiley as they have played three home games and one neutral game this season. In their last game, Wiley fell 66-55 to Dillard to close out a four-game homestand.
Scouting Report:
Avery VanSickle has been the leader of the SFA offense as she averages 15.7 points/game thanks to leading the team with 10 three-pointers this season. Faith Blackstone and Ashlyn Traylor-Walker have formed a dynamic scoring duo as well for SFA as they both average 13.7 points/game, while Trinity Moore is just as dangerous on offense with her 10.7 points/game. Blackstone leads the defensive effort with nine steals, while Moore leads the team with four blocks.
Celebria Peacock and Tamia Dolls led the scoring effort for Wiley against Dillard as both posted 11 points in the loss. Mya Jones dished out a team-high four assists, while Jessica Nerestant pulled down 10 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats. Dolls and Jones both recorded a pair of steals, while Elizabeth Camacho recorded the only block for Wiley.
