
Six Ladyjacks Score Double Digits in Win over Wiley University

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball team (4-0, 0-0 SLC) played Wiley University (0-5, 0-0 CAC) at home in a Tuesday evening matchup.
The beginning of the game was tightly contested as neither team held more than a three-point lead until Faith Blackstone drained a three-pointer with 4:43 left in the first to put the 'Jacks up by six, 11-5. After a layup from Key Roseby, SFA extended their lead to double digits with a score of 15-5. The Ladyjacks finished out the first quarter on a 15-0 run to take a commanding 33-8 lead.
Both teams traded baskets throughout the second quarter with SFA slowly extending their lead off back-to-back baskets and a 9-2 run to finish out the first half with a 58-25 lead. In the first half the Ladyjacks had recorded 11 made three-pointers and looked to be on their way to breaking the record for the most threes in a single game which was set in the season opener against Texas Southern.
SFA continued to lay it on in the third as Cha Gardner and Ashlyn Traylor-Walker recorded back-to-back layups, 62-25. Both teams continued to trade blows until the 'Jacks went on an 11-1 run to end the quarter with a fifty-point lead, 84-34.
In the fourth quarter it was more of the same for the Ladyjacks as they began the final ten minutes on a 16-1 run that saw them reach the century mark on a layup from Roseby. That was all she wrote as the Ladyjacks cruised to a 104-40 victory and their first 4-0 start since 2011-12.
