NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Basketball Team (1-1, 0-0) returns home for an early week matchup against the visiting LeTourneau University Yellowjackets (0-1, 0-0).
Lumberjacks at a Glance:
The Lumberjacks will be looking to get back in the win column on Tuesday night after falling to the Drake Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon. The Lumberjacks took a 26-25 lead into halftime, however, were unable to hold on in the eventual loss to Drake. SFA shot 38% from the field, 33% from beyond the arc, and 53% from the free-throw line against Drake. The loss featured plenty of back-and-forth action as the lead changed hands 10 different times, and featuring a tie game five different occasions.
Yellowjackets at a Glance:
The LeTourneau Yellowjackets will also be looking to get back in the win column on Tuesday night for the first time this season as they fell to St. Thomas in their season opener on the road. In the loss to St. Thomas, the Yellowjackets shot 43% from the floor, 35% from downtown, and 68% from the charity stripe. The Yellowjacket are in the midst of a season-opening four-game road trip, that will see them travel to Kansas to close out the road trip.
Scouting Report:
Chrishawn Christmas put together a solid effort on both ends of the floor for SFA against Drake as he posted a team-high 14 points and eight rebounds while recording two steals defensively. Chris Johnson continues to pace the Lumberjacks as their leading scorer as he averages 11 points/game so far this season, while Christmas leads the team averaging 7.5 rebounds/game. Matt Hayman leads the defensive effort for SFA with six steals on the year.
Deonte Jackson led the scoring effort for the Yellowjackets against St. Thomas as he dropped a team-high 19 points. Caedmon Liebengood posted a double-double for the Yellowjackets with a 17-point, 10-rebound effort while Walker Blaine rounded out the top scorers for LeTourneau with a 10-point performance himself.

Tuesday night will feature the 10th all-time meeting between these two schools with SFA leading the all-time series 9-0. These two schools last met in 2022, when the Lumberjacks defeated the Yellowjackets 93-40 at the Sawmill to remain a perfect 9-0 at home when playing the Yellowjackets.
