
Lumberjacks Picked Second in SLC Preseason Poll Junior Guard Keon Thompson Named Second Team

DALLAS, Texas- The Southland Conference (SLC) announced today the men's basketball preseason 2024-25 Southland Conference Men's Basketball Preseason Poll and the All-Conference First and Second Teams.
The Lumberjacks, returning to the SLC this season, were voted to finish second in the 2024 Southland Men's Basketball Preseason Poll with 208 votes. The Lumberjacks finish one spot behind 2023-24 Southland Conference Champion McNeese State.
Lumberjacks guard Keon Thompson was selected to the preseason All-Conference Second Team. The 6'1 guard from Merryville, Indiana is a transfer from UMass and will begin his first season with the Lumberjacks. Thompson spent two seasons at UMass and totaled 476 points. As a sophomore he averaged 9.2 points per game and averaged 5.8 points per game in 2022 his freshman year.
