
SFA Resumes Conference Play Against Vaqueros

EDINBURG, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will resume conference play January 4th against the UTRGV Vaqueros. SFA will travel to the UTRGV Fieldhouse where tip-off is set for 12:00 p.m. CT. This will be the 'Jacks first conference game since their 79-74 overtime win over Abilene Christian on December 2nd. SFA is 8-5 this season and currently riding a three-game win streak.
Series History:
This will be the eighth matchup between SFA and the UTRGV Vaqueros. The Lumberjacks won the most recent matchup (February 11, 2023) 82-72, in Edinburg, Texas. SFA has won the last four meetings against UTRGV and has not lost to them since the '06-'07 season.
A Look at SFA:
The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks defeated the New Orleans Privateers 80-51 at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. SFA improved to 8-5 overall. It was the Lumberjacks final non-conference game of the season. SFA outscored the Privateers 52-20 in the second half and ended up winning 80-51. Sadaidriene Hall was named Pilgrim's Player of the Game. Hall posted a double-double with his 10 point-10 rebound performance.
