NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Ladyjack Bowling welcomes the open-public to Texas Pro Bowl in Nacogdoches, Texas on October 1st to catch the unofficial start of the 2023-24 season. SFA will be hosting their Purple and Black Scrimmage at 1:00 p.m.
Ahead of SFA's inaugural season in Conference USA, the Ladyjacks look to continue it's success as one of the best Bowling programs. Being able to show the Nacogdoches community before the season is something that Head Coach Amber Lemke has always wanted to do.
"Being able to host an event close to home base before our season starts is such cool opportunity. With a majority of our season being out of Texas, this can give a chance for our local fans and friends of the Ladyjacks to show their support in a special way."
The Purple and Black Scrimmage will be free and open to the public. A live stream is in the works for those that cannot attend the event in person on the teams Facebook page.
A Look at the Ladyjacks/What's Happend This Summer:
Ending last season ranked at #5 in the final NTCA Poll, the Ladyjacks had an amazing year. Finishing with a overall record of 85-42, SFA qualified for the NCAA Pittsburgh Regional, falling just short of the NCAA Championship losing to #4 Nebraska 1-2. SFA also competed in the 2023 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships and had current Senior Crystal George qualify for Match Play in the Intercollegiate Singles Championships.
The Ladyjacks return seven of last years roster and add three freshman. Several of the Ladyjacks competed in USBC events over the summer. Junior Brystal Beyer heads into the season with a new title, qualifying for USBC Junior Team and finished 3rd overall at the U20 Junior Gold Championships. Sophomore Frances Davila competed in the 2023 Teen Masters. Freshman Juliana Kerrigan, Matlyn Warner, and Morgan LiCausi, all competed in the U18 Junior Gold Championships.
Former Ladyjack Carlene Beyer quickly emerged on the Professional Bowling circuit. In her first event, Beyer made it to the show and finished third in the 2023 USBC Queens event.
