NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Lumberjack basketball recently added Sam Daoust and Adil Elhaddad to their support staff. Sam Daoust was named as the team's assistant strength and conditioning coach and Ail Elhaddad was named as the associate athletic trainer.
Prior to his hiring at SFA, Sam Daoust was named Northwestern State's director of Olympic sports strength and conditioning in December 2021. Daoust made an immediate impact upon his arrival, taking over strength and conditioning programming for NSU baseball, soccer, volleyball, and softball while also assisting with the Demon football team's strength and conditioning program. He has added men's and women's basketball responsibilities for the 2022-23 seasons while managing the NSU strength and conditioning interns and graduate assistants.
Daoust is excited to join the SFA and Nacogdoches community. "I want to thank Coach Keller, the Men's Basketball Staff and the entire SFA community for welcoming me with open arms. Coach Keller's record at SFA speaks for itself and I am extremely blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of such a successful and storied program," he said.
Head Coach Kyle Keller is also ecstatic at the opportunity to add a key piece to his support staff. "We are truly fortunate to add such a quality Strength & Conditioning Coach to our program. That is one of the core values in our championship success, the synergy in the beliefs of total body and mind just clicked in our communication. Our staff has already seen tremendous growth in our players," Keller said.
The team will also be adding Adil Elhaddad as their associate athletic trainer. Prior to his hiring at SFA, Elhaddad was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Nicholls for men's basketball and tennis team.
Coach Keller is looking forward to the impact that Elhaddad will make on his medical staff. "I am so grateful to our entire current medical staff in finding such a conscientious, hardworking, & knowledgeable athletic trainer. Adil has brought new and innovative ideas to improve our players health. He has truly been a joy for all of us to work with," Keller said.
