Track and Field Wrap up Day Two of WAC Championships

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The WAC Track and Field Championships wrapped up day two today.
Angel Richmore continued her dominance over the WAC field. Richmore finished first in the women's heptathlon with 5496 points. She took first place finishes in the high jump (1.73m), shot put (12.48m), and javelin (45.31m).
Also among first place finishes for the women, Michelle Ogbemudia crushed the competition in the shot put. Ogbemudia finished first (10 pts), with a throw of 16.24m. Jayla Hooper also contributed to the women's shot put team. Hooper finished fourth (5 pts) in the shot put, with a throw of 14.98m. Jayla Hooper added to the women's point total, with her 53.14m sixth place (3 pts) finish in the hammer throw.
The men wrapped up the decathlon today. Andrew Phillips placed 11th with 6079 points, followed by 12th place Semion Brodski. Brodski finished with 5819 points.
In the men's hammer, both Kayson Elijah and Cameron Steward made improvements from yesterday. Kayson Elijah finished third place (6 pts), with his 56.07m throw. Cameron Steward finished fourth (5 pts), with his hammer throw of 54.54m. Among the throwers for SFA, Sultan Bakare contributed a fifth place (4 pts) finish in the shot put. Sheldon Noble added his own impact to the men's field events. Noble finished third (6 pts) in the long jump, with a mark of 7.56m.
The SFA running team consisted of multiple good finishes. Among them was Mathilde Coquillaud-Salomon fourth place finish in the women's 100m hurdles (13.62). Germain Lemaitre finished fifth in the men's 800m run, with a time of 1:49.60. Nissi Kabongo continued her impressive week, with a second place finish in the women's 400m (53.75). These event finals will be held tomorrow.
In the men's steeplechase, Clark Otte was able to finish fifth (4 pts), with a time of 9:04.98.
Day three will begin with the women's discus at 10:00 a.m. The 4x400 relay will be the last event of the competition. It will not start prior to the scheduled time, but may delayed.
