NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin baseball team prepares for four games at Jaycees Field this week as they have a one-game matchup with University of Arkansas - Pine Bluff and a weekend series with UT-Arlington.

A Look at the Lumberjacks
The Lumberjacks are coming off a rough end to a road trip as they got swept by the New Mexico State Aggies and gave up 39 runs in the three-game series. At the conclusion of the series, the 'Jacks moved to a 16-17 overall record and a 10-8 conference record.
Clayton Loranger enters the week on a 16-game hitting streak, also recording multiple hits in seven of the last ten games. Loranger's 51 total hits on the season puts him sixth in the conference. Loranger's average of .398 is one of five 'Jacks to have an average above .300. Loranger's ability to draw walks helps him get on base nearly half the time as he leads the team with a .470 on-base percentage.
Alex Rodgers jumps into the top 10 in the country in runs scored per game with 1.39. Rodgers currently sits ninth in the nation and first in the WAC. His 46 total runs scored puts him second in the conference and 20th in the nation. Rodgers is also on a 15-game streak of reaching base safely.
Nolan Brown is on a tear as of late as he is 13 for his last 28 (.464) and has recorded five RBIs, eight runs scored, and at least one hit in his last seven games.
Julian Thompson has quietly been one of the best sluggers for the 'Jacks during conference play this season as he leads the team with a 1.147 OPS and four home runs against WAC opponents.
A Look at the Golden Lions
The Golden Lions head into the match with a 11-24 record and are coming off a three-game losing streak to Prairie View A&M who the Lumberjacks are 2-0 against this year. The Golden Lions have only won one road game in 14 matches this season.
JaKobi Jackson leads the offensive categories for the Golden Lions with a .373 average, 1.038 OPS, 28 hits, and 40 total bases. Jackson reaches base half the time he comes up to bat as he carries a .505 on-base percentage. Jackson is also one of two players to have nine doubles on the team.
Brandon Simon's three home runs this year makes him the only player on the team to have multiple home runs this season.
