2/3/2023 6:00:00 PM | Women's Basketball
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program hits the road for two games in the next three days, and we take a quick preview into each one of their next matches. First a look at the Ladyjacks.
Ladyjacks Statistical Analysis
Although suffering a toss loss to CBU last week, the Ladyjacks remain one of the top teams in the WAC. They currently sit second in the WAC standings, two games behind first place Southern Utah and half a game ahead of three teams. Even though the SFA is second in the standings, they have the best overall record in the conference by two games over GCU.
As mentioned before, the Ladyjacks are one of the hottest teams in the WAC as they lead the conference in the following statistics: assists per game (7th in the nation), field goal percentage (5th in the nation), scoring margin, scoring offense, and three-point percentage.
SFA has four Ladyjacks making more than 50% of their baskets when they're on the court and nine Ladyjacks shooting better than 40%. Kurstyn Harden leads the way with 63.3%, going 76-for-120 on the field, all coming within the arc.
Aiyana Johnson leads scoring category for the 'Jacks as she averages 13.1 points per game. Johnson has a 50.8% field goal percentage (99-for-195) and has scored double-digits in 17 out of the 21 games so far. She also leads the team with 23 blocks on the season.

ACU leads the conference in three-pointers per game with 8.1. To say that the Wildcats like to take the deep shots would be an understatement, as roughly 43% of their total shots from the field this season has been from beyond the arc. The opposing three-pointers happened to be the Ladyjacks weakness against CBU, so watch for the Ladyjacks to tighten their defense from the three-point line.
