
Track and Field Finish with Multiple Record Breaking Performances

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas- Branson Ellis highlighted the weekend, placing 1st at the Tyson Invitational. Ellis continued his dominant season in the pole vault, with a school record and lifetime personal best of 5.81m. That vault now has him ranked 3rd overall in the NCAA.
Clark Otte also staked his claim in the Tyson Invitational. Otte broke the 3000m school record, with a time of 8:09.30. He was also able to break the mile school record, running a 4:07.50.
Head Coach Robert Hansen said, Devin Miles and Jonathan Allen also had huge performances. Both guys recorded lifetime bests in the 400m, Miles ran a 47.46 and Allen ran a 47.95. Jonathan Allen, Devin Miles, Gerard Holmes, and Germain Lemaitre ran a season's best 3:13.52, in the 4x400 relay. Coach Hansen said "Devin Miles really anchored that relay with a 46.13 split, which was his fastest split ever by 1.5 seconds".
HOUSTON, Texas- Nissi Kabongo was one of many impressive performances out of the Howie Ryan Invitational. Kabongo tied her school record of 1.85m and placed 1st in the high jump. With that performance, she punches her ticket to the NCAA Indoor Championships and is ranked 11th in the NCAA.
Rachel Taylor was just short of her lifetime best, running a 503.99 and placing 5th in the mile. Morgan Taylor ran a 8.65 in the 60m hurdles. She finished 3rd in the final and is now ranked 5th in the WAC for the 60m hurdles.
Angel Richmore placed 2nd in the long jump, with a mark of 5.79m (19'0"). That mark was just short of her lifetime best. Richmore is now ranked 6th in the WAC for long jump. Jackson Parrish was also able to finish with an indoor lifetime best. Parrish ran a 1:53.70 and finished 1st in the 800m.
This was the final chance for the Lumberjacks to compete before the WAC Indoor Championships. The indoor championships will take place on February 24th and 25th, in Spokane, Washington.
