STEPHENVILLE, Texas. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks Basketball team hits the road for a midweek road game against conference rival Tarleton State.

Stephen F. Austin will look to extend their winning streak to three against the Texans as they have strung together a pair of solid wins in their last two games. In their most recent game against Rice on Saturday, the Ladyjacks claimed a 67-56 win over the Owls and led the Owls in points in the paint (30-22), second chance points (15-12), rebounds (46-37), assists (16-9), and field goal percentage (40.4%-29.7%).
Kurstyn Harden led the way for the 'Jacks offensively against Rice as she tied her season high total in points with 23 while tying for the team lead in rebounds as she pulled down 15. Harden's performance did not go unnoticed as she was named WAC Player of the Week on Monday and has recorded double-digit points in every game this season. Zoe Nelson formed a dynamic duo with Harden against Rice as she also posted a double-double as she finished with 11 points and tied for the team lead in rebounds with Harden with 15. Mimi Gatewood came off the bench and stuffed the stat sheet as she had 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists in just 18 minutes.
Overall, the Ladyjacks had a strong defensive game as they crashed the boards constantly against Rice as they finished with 46 total rebounds on the night as all five Ladyjack starters recorded at least one rebound. The Ladyjacks made 16 shots from the charity stripe led by WAC Player of the Week Kurstyn Harden who finished a perfect nine for nine on free throws. The Ladyjacks continue to get solid scoring down low as they have now recorded 25 or more points in the paint in all five games this season.
Kyla Deck had a pair of steals against the Owls and currently ranks 13th in the entire nation in Total Steals as she has recorded 21 steals on the season and ranks fifth in the nation in steals per game with a solid 4.20 clip. SFA will carry a 3-2 overall record, and a 1-0 away record into this game against Tarleton.

The Tarleton Texans continue their two-game homestand against SFA coming off a heart breaking 64-62 loss to Eastern Washington. In the game against Eastern Washington, Tarleton led in rebounds (42-33), blocks (5-3), points in the paint (32-28), second chance points (8-6), and bench points (41-18).
Jakoriah Long came off the bench for Tarleton and played an impressive 29 minutes while leading the team in scoring with 16 points. Miannah Little also scored in double-figures for Tarleton as she finished with 10 points in 28 minutes.
