Aaron Sears Named Freshman of the Week for Second Time

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football announced its Players of the Week honorees for week seven competition and the list featured a pair of EKU standouts and included a trio of repeat winners. Braedon Sloan (Offensive) and Logan Blake (Defensive) helped the Colonels to a key win last Saturday while Abilene Christian's Kyle Ramsey (Specialist) and Stephen F. Austin's Aaron Sears (Freshman) joined Blake in having their names called for the second time this season by the league office.
A redshirt freshman, Sears had a career day versus Central Arkansas en route to gathering his second weekly recognition of the season. He tallied a season and career-high 15 tackles, with nine solo and six assists, marking his second double-figure tackle effort this year. Sears also recorded his first sack of the year.
He last received the honors against Austin Peay. He recorded 10 total tackles including three solo.
