SFA Finishes 2-1 at USM Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Houston Baptist University defeated Stephen F. Austin, 3-0. HBU improves to 6-2 while SFA suffers their first loss of the season and falls to 9-1.
SFA kept the game close as both teams scored 20 or more points in each set. The first set score was 25-23, the second set was 25-21, and the final set was 25-20.
Camryn Hill and Ielan Bradley led the offensive charge for the Ladyjacks as they both recorded 10 kills in this match. Maddy Bourque led the team with 20 assists, followed by Jayden Flynn who had 18. Haley Hoang once again led the defensive effort for SFA as she recorded 20 digs in this game, which brings her season total to 207 digs.
The Ladyjacks will be back at home next weekend as they host the second SFA Hampton Inn Invitational. SFA will be playing Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday, September 16th at 11 a.m. and Eastern Washington at 7 p.m. On Saturday, September 17th the Ladyjacks will play Arkansas State at 1:30 p.m. to finish out the tournament.
